Psychotherapeutic Yoga

Psychotherapeutic Yoga merges the ancient practices of yoga with modern psychotherapeutic techniques, creating a holistic approach to mental and emotional health. This integrative method combines physical postures (asanas), breathwork (pranayama), meditation, and mindfulness practices with contemporary psychological theory and therapy.

The aim is to address a wide range of psychological issues and emotional distress by fostering a deeper connection between mind, body, and spirit.

Psychotherapeutic Yoga can be applied to a broad spectrum of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, PTSD, stress, and emotional trauma. It also supports those dealing with everyday stressors, relationship issues, self-esteem struggles, and personal growth aspirations. This approach is grounded in the belief that emotional and mental health challenges often manifest physically in the body—either through tension, chronic pain, or other somatic symptoms.

At the heart of Psychotherapeutic Yoga is the focus on meeting individuals’ emotional and mental health needs through a compassionate, embodied approach, to achieve; mind body connection, regulation of the nervous system, emotional release and healing, self awareness and mindfulness, empowerment and agency.

Psychotherapeutic Yoga engages both the body and the mind, providing a space to explore and release emotional and mental blockages that might manifest as physical tension, stress, or chronic pain. It creates an environment where people can process trauma, stress, anxiety, depression, or other emotional challenges through a combination of yoga practices and psychotherapeutic support.

These yoga classes will emphasize targeting mental health symptoms. Each week, we will have a different focus, such as anxiety and depression. The focus of classes will not be exercise and will be beginner level.
